About Us
We're Ben & Leo. Canteen is a passion project of ours, it's our first and only business. We've spent months renovating a historical building on St. Werburgh Street to bring Chester the sandwiches it deserves. We have a passion for food and coffee, and wanted to bring that to the city we live in. We hope you come and try us out.
The Build
See how we built Canteen
We took on 18 St Werburgh in July 2024, and got open at the end of October. Between us and Leo's parents we managed to create Canteen.
One of the best aspects of building Canteen was getting to restore the original flooring on the entire ground floor and partially in our seating area upstairs.
Impact
Along with providing Chester with somewhere to relax and have a coffee and a sandwich, we're trying to a be a positive impact in our community. We've provided children with free lunches during Half-Term and hosted a non-alcoholic music event in Canteen.
